I am amazed at how much it can rain. People had to leave work early today because there was flooding in their area. I don’t mind the rain in January, that’s when it’s supposed to rain. I mind rain in July.
Thomas and I watched an older episode of E-Ring last night and it was a Christmas episode (ok, so we’re behind on our taped TV) where the military wanted to give a gift of supplies and stuff to an Afghani village. The SecDef was also going to have Christmas dinner with the troops. We found it interesting that the military celebrates Christmas in a big way, yet we are inundated with the politically correct “Happy Holidays” so as not to offend any other religions. This year there was the backlash of “Happy Holidays” vs. “Merry Christmas”. Why should people be offended that Christians celebrate Christmas? Why should they be offended if someone wishes them a Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays for that matter? The wish is for a joyous season, not to diss or discriminate. I’m Jewish and it does not offend me if someone wishes me any sort of greeting during the winter holiday season. The greeting is meant with the best of intentions and I accept it in the spirit in which it is given. I think groups of people are a little too easily offended by things that are meant in a good spirit.
I got 97% in my first week back in school. Yeah.
